Memorial Day is over but the summer of Americana style has just begun. There's just something so synonymous with beach weather and American culture. Don't be afraid to rock an American flag crop top or hot shorts just because it's not 4th of July. You can find plenty of flag happy stuff on Nasty Gal or Top Shop. So is this just a U.S. thing or do all the stylish girls from other countries display how proud they are of their heritage on their clothing?

Smoking foul cigarettes and laughing it up with some lady that looks sadly like Dina Lohan about how awesome it is that she's carrying around a designer bag with literally her name on it. You look like you're about to go to a tennis lesson. Bleh!

A clear trend at this year's Met Gala was a bold lip. And not just a regular bold red lip. Blah, boring. Celebrities chose dark purples and super dark reds, an interesting choice for spring since we usually only see this during fall and winter. This look is obviously not for day, but you could try it on a night out. Keep your wardrobe simple to let the makeup do all the talking.
